Abstract

This community service partner is Helo Farming Group, an egg-laying chicken farm located in Siapporik Village, Padangsidimpuan City. The main problem faced by the partner is the suboptimal implementation of the biosecurity system, evident from the lack of area restrictions for visitors, which can trigger the spread of diseases between coops. The goal of this collaborative community service activity between lecturers and students is to assist the partner in implementing 3-zone biosecurity standards (Red, Yellow, and Green). The methods include an initial survey, mapping the coop areas, theoretical counselling, renovation of physical facilities (constructing foot baths and disinfection gates), and direct assistance. The results of the activity show an 85% increase in farm workers' understanding of biosecurity and the establishment of disease isolation layouts according to operational standard procedures (SOPs). This partnership has successfully reduced the potential risk of external pathogen transmission, while also serving as a contextual learning tool for students.
